Captain Rachel Garrett

Captain Rachel Garrett, one of the first women to command a U.S.S. Enterprise, is very attractive, with short, dark brown hair. Like most Starfleet captains, she pushes herself too hard. Even when she has sustained serious injuries, Captain Garrett insists on remaining in command of her ship and crew; she is not one to rest in sickbay when her people need her.

Garrett is an intelligent, quick thinker, determined and fiercely loyal to her crew and to Starfleet. When she finds her ship thrust 22 years into the future, she immediately assesses the situation. Her main concern is to ensure that the her ship and the skills of her crew are put to the best possible use. She initially believes that her ship will be able to serve Starfleet best by staying in the future to help in the seemingly endless battle with the Klingons, and she does not hesitate to volunteer her crew for this new mission. However, when Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D convinces her that a selfless, honorable atternpt to defend the Narendra III outpost might have been enough to create peace with the Klingons even if unsuccessful, she prepares her crew to return through the rift for a battle which will cost them their lives but will save millions.

Unfortunately, she is killed in an explosion during a Klingon attack before her ship can return, but the loyalty and sense of duty she has instilled in her crew is enough to ensure that they honor the course of action they knew she would have wanted.
